Introduction
Aminet Hunter is probably the most advanced Aminet search engine on the Internet. The large array of features it provides could potentially make the program incredibly complicated to use, so we have opted to develop an interface that should grow according to your requirements.

We've based the idea along the same lines as the essential Installer tool whereby you can choose between Novice, Intermediate, and Expert modes. Novice mode is selected by default.

Once you've selected the options you require to perform your search, click the "Search" button to execute that search. Irrespective of whether you worked with Novice, Intermediate, or Expert mode, the results page will be the same. The only exception to this is if some error condition occurs eg. you forgot to fill in any search options, or your search did not return any results.

The main part of the results page is a table containing the files matched by your search. The six columns show the name of the file (and a link to it on a given Aminet mirror), the directory the file resides in on the site, it's size, and it's age (in days since uploaded to Aminet). If the file's associated readme contains more details than just a brief description (the "short" in Aminet terms), a gold blob is shown immediately to the right of the age. The Final column contains the short. This is hotlinked to the readme file on a given Aminet mirror.

If there are more results than are currently displayed on the page, a series of gold numbers are displayed immediately underneath the table. These will jump you to the results page of that number. The page currently being displayed is highlighted with a bright yellow box. You can also navigate between pages using the left and right facing arrows at either side of the search page links. Underneath these links are buttons to save the results to a file ("Save results"), and to jump back to the search options page ("Search again"). That's all there is to it!
